Sussurrare

A fat feeler-worm of the marsh, the Sussurrare is hard to find, but known to rest near still basins and fetid pools of collected water. The properties of this creature involve silence.

Silence is golden, which is just another reason why the stealthy members of society regard Sussurrare with favor. In appearance it is a worm, thick and fat, with feelers splayed across the ground. Known for its silence-giving property, it’s a chosen component of wytches, druids, and Mystarium.

Description

The property confers the ability to create the effect of silence and the removal of sound:

  • Potion:** This will be able to affect one person for 2d4 rounds (drinking the liquid) or multiple people for 2d4 rounds (as a powder, which a Saving Throw vs DEX will negate. They must leave the area, though). At this time the person cannot speak and their Stealth is at +4. In general, they do not make sounds, but items they knock over will still cause noise. The power actually blankets a 10×20 area and anyone walking into it makes no noise for the entirety of the 2d4 rounds.
  • Inscription: Inscribing this sigil on a wall or item affects all who view it, as above, for 1d4 rounds + (your Intelligence Proficiency bonus). A Saving Throw negates the effect.
  • Jewelry: This item, when worn, causes it’s wearer to fall under the effects of Silence for 3d4 rounds. There is no Saving Throw. At this time they cannot speak and have +4 to Stealth, but items they interact with can still make noise. There is only one charge.
  • Fabrics/Clothing: Same as jewelry, except Fabrics imbued with this property can be used to cover things: items, people. You can basically cover a 10ft. by 10ft by 10ft area and uncover it to put on something else. There is only one charge.
  • Weapon: A person struck with this weapon gets to roll a Saving Throw. If failed, he or she is affected by the Silence for 1-2 rounds. The weapon has 1d4 charges (plus your Intelligence Proficiency bonus).
  • Armor: A person striking this armor has no Saving Throw and is affected by Silence for 1-2 rounds. The armor has 1d4 charges (plus your Intelligence Proficiency bonus).
  • Wand, Staff, or Rod: The item has 1d4 + (your Intelligence Proficiency bonus) charges and the user can aim and cast it at a target. Anyone, or any thing, hit by this power is affected by the Silence for 1d4 rounds. A successful Saving Throw halves the effect. This item has 1d4 charges plus your Intelligence Proficiency bonus.
